Chapin Beach - Cape Cod

Chapin beach was randomly selected for its strategic location on the way home. With no expectations, the beach exceeded imagination. Located on the south side of the bay equidistant Plymouth and Provincetown, the beach was bathed in golden sunset light when we arrived. For the 30 minutes it took to walk to the promontory, the sun dropped to the line of the horizon. I took my phone out and filmed it, because that’s the age we live in, mediated by a device. It took 1:14 seconds for the sun to set behind the horizon.

Waves merging at the mouth of the estuary, horse shoe crab shell on sand, and gentle gray waves lapping the shore of the promontory. It was a fitting end to our cape adventures. Unexpected moments in places overlooked. Experiences open to those patient enough to see them. Stories of people, places, and events embedded in the landscape of cape cod.
