(1) Make an ellipse with 80 subdivisions, 20'-0" spacing between columns on the perimeter. Cardo decomanus (north south east west) axis aligns to city grid and are unnumbered gates. Gladiators enter from the east, dead gladiators exit to the west. The emperor enters through the south, the magistrate enters from the north,
(2) Add columns, walls and stairs.
(3) Within 80 wedges of the ellipse, there are 5 typical modular sections
(4) The sections are arranged symmetrically around the ellipse and allow 50,000 people to flow in and out of their seating within 12 minutes.
