Take the alcazar plan, trace the circulation paths through the rooms and the garden. then overlay the paths with the diagonal long views, map out the trees, vegetation and fountains. you'll find the result is eerily similar to the geometric patterns described by the ornament on the alcazar walls. that is, the muslim conception of space is a 3 dimensional interwoven geometric fabric of looping and spiraling pathways, penetrating long diagonal views, water flows, and vegetation.
